2003 Race to Mackinac- Getting Started!

The 2003 Mackinac Race is being administered solely under the US SAILING AMERICAP II™ handicap scoring system. Each participate needs to apply to US SAILING for a certificate and you will find an official application for the Special Great Lakes Certificate (PDF). Please note that this is a special version for Great Lakes use only.

Please also note the special instructions for 2002 Mac Race One Design Class boats. The fee for this special application is $2.00 per foot of overall boat length; and, when completed submit your application and fee payable to US SAILING at:

If you have any questions regarding your Americap II™ certificate, the application process or have any concerns regarding measurement, we refer you to the AMERICAP II™Announcement (PDF), or US SAILING at 800-US SAIL 1.

For those skippers anticipating your first Race to Mackinac we ask that you print and then complete the Official Request for Invitation and return it to the Chicago Yacht Club as indicated on the form.
