Americap
II Certificate Delay Procedure
Due
to unavoidable delays in both issuing Americap II certificates
by US SAILING and in obtaining measurement for certain boats
that require measurement, the Chicago Yacht Club Mackinac
Committee (CYCMC) will waive any late entry fee associated
with the inability to provide such certificates as part of
a yacht’s required pre-race entry before 1600 CDT, Friday,
June 13, 2003. Such waiver is contingent upon all other required
pre-race entry documents as stated in the Notice of Race having
been timely submitted and the yacht making a good faith effort
to obtain such certificate by such date by either having submitted
a completed application to US SAILING requesting issuance
of the certificate or having made prior arrangements to obtain
measurement. The valid certificate must be promptly forwarded
to the CYCMC upon receipt from US SAILING in order to complete
entry requirements.

Attention
Mac racers. Recently added to this site are a number of items
that will hopefully assist your entry process and add value
to your overall Mac race experience.
First,
the 2003 ISF Offshore Special Regulations for both Multihulls
and Monohulls are now available in an easily viewable and
printable format on the Race
Documents page. Use these documents to help better understand
your responsibilities completing the 2003 Chicago Mackinac
Offshore Special regulation Worksheet. Completion of this
work sheet is a requirement of the entry process as stated
in the Notice of Race paragraph 5.1.g.
Next,
follow the link Entry Status
on the left side navigation bar to see how the Mac Committee
views your entry status. There is a search feature that allows
you to locate a boat by entering all or part of your name,
sail number, boat name or boat type. Use this feature to see
how others are doing or who has registered. The information
posted to the Registration Information and Status page is
update daily.
Race
Tracking, an exciting feature of the Chicago Yacht Club
Mac race, is available once again and this year. Due to the
support of RMI Network Services, Inc. and the Chicago Yacht
Club the equipment rental is an amazing $75.00 however, only
a limited number of transponder units are available. Follow
the link at the top of the right-hand column of this page
and sign-up to make this race more enjoyable for you, your
crew and your shore based supporters.
And
finally, results reporting this year is essentially
real time for 45th parallel crossing and finishes. As competitors
cross the 45th parallel, they are required to contact the
Race Committee; their reported crossing times are recorded
electronically and immediately available via the link on the
left. As boats finish, the Race Committee records finishing
times which are posted electronically and immediately available
on this site. The search feature associated with the results
page will be useful for those shore based followers who may
be uncertain of the Division or Section.
As
the count down clock indicates, race day is rapidly approaching.
Use the information on this site to help you get organized
and registered; sign up for Race Tracking and bring the race
into the homes and offices of your family, friends and associates.
